(San Diego, CA, USA) is presenting the world's first large sample volume, open-assay, super-fast, ultra-sensitive, and sample-to-answer PCR instrument at AACC 2023.

The groundbreaking PeakV from OnsiteGene is a sample-to-answer instrument that represents a paradigm shift in PCR testing. By utilizing rapid thermal cycling and real-time fluorescent imaging to perform 40 cycles within a span of just 5 minutes, it delivers an unmatched performance. The device can carry out low copy multiplex qPCR in merely seven minutes and RT-qPCR in nine minutes. Equipped with a substantial sample volume capacity of up to 5mL, PeakV also features automated nested PCR and magnetic beads-based nucleic acid extraction, thereby enhancing its sensitivity and specificity, outperforming conventional qPCR techniques.

PeakV's user-programmable interface and affordable, contamination-resistant open-assay cartridge offer a versatile platform for third-party assay developers to design customized sample-to-answer PCR tests. This provides researchers and clinicians with the capacity to explore a myriad of possibilities within molecular diagnostics. The PeakV cartridge eschews a microfluidics-based design, which means it lacks microchannels, microvalves, and microchambers. This allows the cartridge to accommodate large quantities of reagents and samples in its spacious chambers, without the constraints typically associated with microchannels and microchambers during fluid transfer and mixing. Thanks to these features, the PeakV cartridge delivers a high-quality technical performance that is on par with a manual laboratory test operation.
