Genotyping Panels Detect Polymorphisms and Gene Variants

Genotyping panels are specific multiplexes that detect polymorphisms and gene variants associated with a variety of health and nutritional conditions including heart and bone health, antioxidant detoxification function, insulin sensitivity, inflammation, obesity, Alzheimer's disease, hepatitis C, blood disorders, and oncology.

Marligen's (Ijamsville, MD, USA) Signet genotyping products and services are designed to rapidly and accurately detect genetic variations including single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs), small insertions and deletions (indels), and whole gene deletions. More...


The Signet genotyping assays are configured to be used in conjunction with the Luminex (Austin, TX, USA) xMAP System for multiplexed analysis. For investigators who do not have access to the Luminex instrumentation or who would prefer to outsource the work, the Signet technical staff also provides testing services. Information is available about adaptation for use on other platforms.

The high-throughput format allows hundreds of samples to be analyzed in one day. The standardized assay methodology and filter-plate format maximizes reproducibility. The solution is cost-effective and detects multiple genetic variants in one sample. It provides excellent allelic discrimination with yields of >99 % accuracy.

The flexible assay format allows individual assays in Signet genotyping panels to be configured into customized genotyping panels. For example, ten SNPs from five different panels can be reconfigured into a single customized panel. To configure a personalized custom panel, choose as many assays as needed from the full assay list and send the list to Marligen. The company's scientists will reconfigure the panels to your specifications, manufacture reagents, validate performance, and send you a complete package ready for use.

Luminex's xMAP technology is built on flow cytometry, microspheres, lasers, digital signal processing, and traditional chemistry. Featuring a flexible, open-architecture design, xMAP technology can be configured to perform a wide variety of bioassays quickly, cost-effectively, and accurately.
