A rapid-response chemiluminescent analyzer was launched commercially for autoimmune disease diagnostic testing. More...

BIO-FLASH is a fully automated analyzer that offers a broad menu of accurate QUANTA Flash immunoassays for autoimmunity testing. Tests that previously required significant hands on time can now be automated on an intuitive and rapid system with BIO-FLASH. BIO-FLASH and the QUANTA Flash reagents are classified as moderately complex under the Clinical Laboratories Improvements Act (CLIA), making the system accessible to a wide range of laboratories and their staff.

BIO-FLASH is a rapid-response chemiluminescent analyzer that adapts quickly to varying workflow demands including STAT testing. It offers random access processing and continuous loading of samples to make even the most specialized test efficient to perform. BIO-FLASH achieves good throughput with a small benchtop analyzer, completing up to 450 results in a single shift. The system eliminates batching and improves time to result using random access processing to perform single or multiple assays at any time on any sample. BIO-FLASH offers precise quantification and a broad dynamic range using chemiluminescent technology.

INOVA (San Diego, CA, USA) developed BIO-FLASH and additional autoimmune assays that fully leverage the many advantages of the system. BIO-FLASH has been well received by hospitals and clinical reference laboratories: Dr. Marvin Fritzler, whose laboratory at the University of Calgary uses BIO-FLASH, commented, “BIO-FLASH has dramatically enhanced the workflow and decreased turnaround times for autoantibody testing at our facility. The user-friendly interface allows rapid adoption by laboratory staff members. We are looking forward to an expanding catalogue of immunoassays developed by INOVA.”
