Diagnostic Automated Chemistry Analyzer Controlled by Centralized Supercomputer

By LabMedica International staff writers
Posted on 03 Jan 2011
A diagnostic, automated chemistry analyzer is controlled by a centralized supercomputer, which enables simultaneous sample processing and report management.

The BS-800 modular system has a build-in barcode scanner and is readily available for Laboratory Information System (LIS) connectivity. More...
When the BS-800 is connected with the sample delivery module (SDM) the operator may load up to 300 samples and be freed for a lengthy walkaway time.

Mindray Medical (Shenzhen, China) exhibited the BS-800 chemistry analyzer at the MEDICA 2010 World Forum of Medicine International Trade Fair with Congress, held November 17-20, 2010 in Düsseldorf, Germany.

The new system is the latest in vitro diagnostic (IVD) product manufactured by Mindray. It incorporates reagents, calibrators, and controls recommended by Mindray and can be configured into a modular system between one (BS-800M1) and four (BS-800M4) units.

Featuring a unique dual-diaphragm and dual-focus concave grating optical system, the new BS-800 technology has enhanced optical reading. The eight steps wash station and 165 durable glass cuvettes are environment-friendly and lower the cost of consumables.

The analyzer's flexibility allows excellent sample throughput and analyzing capability. The sampling throughput enables onboard specimen handling capacity between 440 and 860 samples.

The ergonomic design equipped with touch screen inputting mode and full status monitoring creates a user-friendly proficient environment. The instrument also offers features such as liquid level sense, sample clotting, and air bubble detection for accurate sample diagnosis.

Mindray Medical International Limited is a developer, manufacturer, and marketer of medical devices worldwide. Its headquarters are in Shenzhen, China.
