HbA1C Tests Performed on Analyzer in Community Healthcare Settings

A rapid analyzer allows on-the-spot blood testing for HbA1C, eliminating the need to send samples to the laboratory. More...

Suitable for clinics, pharmacies, and GP practices, the simple and economical test requires one drop of blood from a finger prick sample and delivers laboratory-quality results in less than four minutes.

Quotient Diagnostics (Walton on Thames, UK) developed the rapid, economical analyzer that allows HbA1c tests to be performed in community healthcare settings. With a small footprint and low weight, the analyzer, called Quo-Test, fits into the smallest space, and it can be easily moved to other sites. Compact, convenient, and easy to use, it calibrates automatically and can download results or print them onto a sticky label.

Quo-Test A1C is traceable to the International Federation of Clinical Chemistry (IFCC) reference method and has been certified by the National Glycohemoglobin Standardization Program (NGSP).

A report published by Diabetes UK warned that in the UK alone, nearly 800,000 people with diabetes are failing to adequately manage their blood glucose levels, putting themselves at risk of serious health problems such as blindness, heart disease, amputation and kidney failure.

The report emphasizes that maintaining HbA1c levels within the recommended range is the foundation of good diabetes management and that regular testing plays a crucial role in helping diabetics to control their condition and reduce the long-term health risks.

Quotient Diagnostics developed the rapid, convenient, and economical analyzer in response to this report.
