A state-of-the-art real-time PCR system featuring leading edge thermal resolution and reproducibility packed into an incredibly small platform has been introduced into the biotech market.

The LightCycler Nano Real-Time PCR System is the product of an exclusive OEM agreement between Roche Applied Science (Basel, Switzerland) and IT-IS Life Sciences Ltd. More...
(Stokesley, United Kingdom). The system uses proprietary Roche dyes and reagents for precise and reproducible DNA amplification and melting curve analysis.

The LightCycler Nano is a 32-well format real-time PCR cycler with state of the art functionality and easy-to-use software. As it is both silent and compact, this instrument was designed to be an excellent bench-top companion for laboratory end users performing real-time PCR on a daily basis. The system uses convenient, standard PCR strips and can support all common detection dyes with its full spectrum optics.

Roche is the world’s largest biotech company with over 80,000 employees and more than nine billion Swiss francs committed to research and development. Regarding the new LightCycler Nano Instrument, Roche’s head of PCR projects, Gerd Haberhausen, said, Like all LightCycler Real-Time PCR Instruments, the LightCycler Nano Real-Time PCR Instrument produces high quality qPCR, genotyping and high resolution melting data using easy-fit reagents, reaction vessels, and instrumentation. The LightCycler Nano Real-Time PCR System was built to enjoy in every lab, on every bench - serious PCR and fun!”

Roderic Fuerst, CEO of IT-IS Life Sciences Ltd., said, “We believe that the creative engineering capability of IT-IS and the market leadership position of Roche in real-time PCR are a perfect match for each other. The LightCycler Nano system will deliver exceptional performance, ease of use, and value due to its highly integrated solid-state design.”
