New Kits for Nucleic Acid Purification to Boost Genomics Research

Genomics researchers and molecular biologists in general stand to benefit from a group of kits for the fast and simple isolation of nucleic acids from blood, plasma, and serum that have now reached the market.

The kits, produced by Norgen Biotek Corporation (Thorold, ON, Canada), provide fast, robust, reliable, and simple procedures for isolating and purifying high quality macromolecules such as DNA, RNA, circulating nucleic acids, and microRNA from a wide range of sample volumes (100 μL up to 10 mL).

The molecular products obtained may be used for a number of applications including the detection of tumor biomarkers, viruses, and microRNA detection by PCR (polymerase chain reaction), quantitative PCR, RT-PCR, microarrays, and gene sequencing.
