An innovative recombinant protein system overcomes conventional microbial expression difficulties by secreting correctly folded, active proteins directly into the growth media. More...
Breakthrough expression system reduces production costs and speeds time to market.

Ajinomoto AminoScience, LLC (Raleigh, NC,USA) announced the launch of Corynex recombinant protein expression system streamlined , more efficient process to express proteins. "Ajinomoto's innovative Corynex recombinant protein expression system reinforces 50 years of leadership within the fermentation and expression fields,” commented Jack Heaton, president of Ajinomoto AminoScience. "With the debut of our new system, we demonstrate that Ajinomoto is an unrivaled industry leader.”

This advanced technology is Ajinomoto's answer to a recent analysis of biotechnology manufacturing by BioPlan Associates, a biotechnology marketing research firm (Rockville, MD, USA). In the January 2009, the firm released a study that outlines the need for advances in manufacturing. The study describes a "reluctance” by companies to modernize with new technology and methodologies so products can be made "more efficiently and to higher clinical standards.”

"This new process shows Ajinomoto's willingness to invest in scientific efforts to improve expression systems,” said Mr. Heaton. "We have answered the industry's call to develop better technology to meet our customers' needs.”

Ajinomoto, one of the worlds' largest manufacturers of amino acids, was the first company in the world to identify, customize, and market amino acids. The company is the only U.S. manufacturer of cGMP pharmaceutical grade amino acids. Key applications include use in therapeutic pharmaceutical development, cell culture media, parenteral and clinical nutrition, health foods, and food applications.

Ajinomoto AminoScience is a supplier of pharmaceutical grade amino acids. Ajinomoto created the standards that have become the accepted benchmark for the amino acid industry. Since its development, the company has provided a steady supply of high quality amino acids while vigorously pursuing research programs and improving manufacturing processes.
